Congregational Appeal: We sing of a church, through and for the ages
As we prepare to mark 100 years of the United Church of Canada, what can we do to ensure that our vibrant communities of faith remain active for the next century?
A New, Mature Level of Stewardship
In 2025, the United Church of Canada is celebrating 100 years of our denomination! The United Church of Canada Foundation is looking for communities of faith ready to establish a new, mature level of stewardship with the launch of our special anniversary campaign We sing of a Church, through and for the ages! We’ve set a goal that by 2025, most– if not all!– congregations should have an endowment managed by the Foundation!
At the Foundation, support for Communities of Faith is one of our four foundational priorities. We believe that strong, stable communities of faith are essential in bringing God’s love into the world. We support many congregations and ministries across Canada through our granting programs, and other initiatives. This denominaton-wide campaign offers a whole new way of financing church programs and ministry in the second century of our United Church. We sing of a Church, through and for the ages is designed to fortify your in-house operations and ministry. Participating will benefit your community of faith immeasurably in a growing movement of stability and strength at the congregational level.
We invite you to explore We sing of a Church, through and for the ages. Inside, you’ll see:
- how endowment funds function
- why endowment funds are key to a stable, effective, and meaningful way for your congregation to support itself and secure its future with current trusts, assets, and future gifts
- how other congregations have invested through the Foundation to provide long-term support for programs that are important to them.

Keys to the Kindom & The Untied Church of Canada
Coinciding with this exciting campaign are two books by Rev. Brian Arthur Brown; KEYS TO THE KINDOM and its upcoming sequel THE UNTIED CHURCH OF CANADA. Both contain anniversary proposals you will find exciting in support of your congregational life and ministry going forward. Along with our congregational appeal, we hope you’ll consider establishing a new fund, or transferring your existing endowment to the Foundation.
