An Incredible Year In Review
With 2022 having finally arrived, we wanted to take a moment to look back at the previous year and say “Thank You” for the incredible gifts of generosity that we have been a part of.
Every donation made to the United Church of Canada Foundation represents something much more than the dollar amount given. When generous donors make gifts to the Foundation, they are really expressing their support and belief in the United Church of Canada and the good works that our church does.
Let’s look closer at some of the incredible news that we have to share with you:
In 2021, the Foundation empowered 72 exciting and innovative projects through our Seeds of Hope granting program.
More than $750,000 was granted to organizations, congregations, and ministries across Canada last year. These projects all have the potential to uplift the recipients’ communities, as well as having incredible local and – in some cases – national and global impacts.

In 2021, Gifts of Securities totaled more than $6.5 million.
When donors make gifts of securities, they can better realize the full potential of their gifts, in part because donating stocks and mutual funds directly to the Foundation means avoiding capital gains taxes on the gift. We’re proud and honoured to help facilitate these gifts, which all go to support the missions and ministries most important to our donors.
This past year, gifts of securities have supported individual congregations, funded church building improvements and renovations, and sponsored community-driven initiatives across Canada, and so much more. We are blessed to be a part of this incredible generosity.

Foundation Funds, faithfully supported by Foundation donors, are ensuring that so many good works are being done in Canada and around the world. Although our funds support a wide variety of United Church people and projects, we are happy to work with you to create a personal endowment fund that will ensure a strong future for the specific ministries that matter most to you.
