Camping Ministry Webinar Replay
Did you catch our recent webinar Works in Action: Supporting Camping Ministry? What a great way to top off Camping Sunday celebrations. Our amazing panel inspired us with their stories, passion and hope, supported by the United Church of Canada Foundation. If you missed it, or want to watch again, we’ve got the webinar replay for you!
United Church camps provide a sacred space to build community and deepen connections with one other, Creation, and God. We learned how these groups are using support from the Foundation to modernize and upgrade their facilities, develop engaging new programming, and welcome individuals who may not otherwise have access to the camp experience.
Our panel featured 3 camping ministries, all past grant recipients:
- Brendan Turner, Sparrow Lake United Church Camp (Toronto, ON)
- Janice Noble, Camp Kidston (Bedford, NS)
- Anwar Alhjooj, Camp Cosmos (Montreal, QC)
We are so grateful to them for sharing their projects, learnings, and experience working with the Foundation. Also, a BIG thank you to our colleague Cam Fraser for stepping in last minute to facilitate the discussion when our original moderator Vicki Nelson was under the weather.

Learning from United Church Camps
When asked what Iearnings could be applied to other ministries (ie. not just camps), Janice Noble mused:
“I think camp has really challenged me and our community to consider what church can be and what worship can be and how we can step beyond our traditional perceptions of those and challenge ourselves to try new things and to keep learning and keep growing”.
