Grant Report Webinar Replay
Thanks for joining us for our webinar, How To: Write a Successful Grant Report! If you missed this helpful session, here is the replay!
Ultimately, your grant report is how you share the story of your project in your own words. That’s why the Foundation rolls several trust-based philanthropy principles into our reporting guidelines. We value transparency and while we do ask for financials, we know that numbers don’t tell the full story and are not the only markers of progress. Collecting qualitative insights through testimonials, videos, and photos is encouraged. Further, our guidelines are there to help you reflect; the open-endedness is intentional so that you can provide meaningful context in a way that makes sense for your project.
The Foundation uses grant reports primarily to share learnings across the church network. Knowing that this is the purpose of your report can help you approach it with gratitude and honesty. Similarly, when you complete reports for other funding you receive, understanding what the organization will do with the information is key to producing a “successful” grant report.
Jenna also mentions in the webinar that returning to the grant application is a helpful way to reflect.

Reporting as a Tool
Wendy Pope, a recent grantee from Denman Island United Church in British Columbia says that her group “found the grant writing process generative and profound”. The same can be said for producing grant reports as well! A good grant report is an essential communication tool that you can use in various ways. For example, reflecting on the big picture of your project can help frame the need for further support. Your grant report can then be used as the basis for applying for additional funding or even be a jumping-off point for a campaign.
