Leave a Legacy of Love

A planned gift is an act of hope and love, a visionary statement of belief in the future of our United Church and God’s mission in the world. Making a planned gift is equivalent to saying “this is how I wish to be remembered.”

The most common form of planned gift is a bequest in your will. Doing so is a powerful, meaningful way for your legacy to contribute to the ministries of United Church of Canada that are closest to your heart.

Through the Foundation, you can direct your bequest to a particular area of ministry, including establishing an endowment fund of your own. We are happy to work with you to ensure that your vision for your legacy is realized and supports the ministries and initiatives that lie closest to your heart.

We have plenty of different resources available to you that will help you determine what kind of gift you are comfortable in making:

We have partnered with the Canadian planned giving campaign Will Power, and recommend their Legacy Calculator tool to see how you can support United Church ministry while ensuring that your loved ones are taken care of.

Our Will Workbook is another fantastic, comprehensive resource to assist in making your Estate plans. It is available to download here, or you can contact us for a free copy.

Finally, while bequests are the most common type of planned gift, we encourage you to contact us to learn about the full spectrum of giving opportunities that are available to you. Please call Jessica at 1-866-340-8223 or email legacy@united-church.ca to get started on leaving your legacy of love today!

We are so grateful to those who have made planned gifts to and through the Foundation in the past, and to those of you who have already included a gift in your will to support future United Church ministry.
