United Church of Canada Foundation Spring 2024 Grants Announcement
Last week, the Joint Grants Committee met to review a record number of applications for Spring 2024 grants across our granting programs. After careful consideration, the Joint Grants Committee and the Foundation’s Board excitedly share the United Church of Canada Foundation Spring 2024 grant results! Here is a breakdown of the 101 grants totalling $647,734.70:
- 61 grants through the Seeds of Hope granting program, totaling $396,460
- 1 grant from the Transformational Learning Fund, totaling $2,000
- 2 grants through special requests from the General Council & Regions, totaling $20,000
- 3 grants through the Embracing the Spirit/New Ministries granting program totaling $75,000
- 34 scholarships and academic awards totalling $194,274.70

What You’re Doing Matters!
Every granting round, the Committee reviews a growing number of thoughtful applications (this round saw a more than 30% increase over last year!), all of which represent treasured ministries to the people who submitted them. Each and every project (funded or not!) is important!
Foundation Lead Erik Lo Forte notes, “We are once again over the moon to witness not only the volume of submissions but the quality. It is a blessing to partner and collaborate with another diverse group of grantees and scholars representing United Church ministries from coast to coast to coast. It’s all inspiring work and of course we wish we could fund it all. Whether or not your project was funded, we applaud the commitment to deep spirituality, bold discipleship, and daring justice your applications show.”
