We are excited to share that Rev. Maria Christina Conlon (Tina), will be our featured speaker for the upcoming edition of our “Coffee With” webinar series!
Tina is the Community Minister at Davenport Perth Community Ministry, having joined in 2014. Arriving from the Philippines in 1972, she has been an active community organizer in various Canadian communities. Through her practice of “intentional loitering,” she meets weekly for Bread and Bricks and the monthly Beyond Table 91. This includes Guaranteed Livable Income vigils, and more recently, a Community Land Trust project and an annual Family Camp. With experience in community organizing, development, and advocacy both locally and internationally, Tina understands the importance of discerning the unseen.
Davenport Community Ministry is s a ministry of presence, walking in solidarity with the culturally diverse, low-income community of Davenport Perth. They focus on community development and organizing, offering pastoral care, and engaging in advocacy efforts. The Foundation is proud to support various projects, including Tracing Gete-Onigaming Routes and the Community Land Trust initiative, through our granting program. They are part of the Shining Waters Region of the United Church of Canada in Toronto.
In this webinar, we will catch up with Tina as she shares updates on the latest will share updates on the latest work of Davenport Community Ministry, including the Sin Fronteras Monarch Butterfly Project (“The Clay Project”) at the Gardiner Museum.
